Let’s say you’re out on a hike, hunt or a fishing trip. Maybe you’re playing in the snow on skis or your snowmobile. Or you could just be chopping veggies. Then it happens: A twisted ankle, a hard fall, a slip of the knife and ouch! Something pops or pulls, tweaks or cracks, and you need medical attention right away. In other words, you need urgent care—ideally at a facility near you.
But this is Wyoming. More specifically…beautiful Star Valley, and the things we need tend to be a few miles away. So how far is too far to travel for urgent care?
Urgent care centers in Afton and Alpine
At Star Valley Health, our urgent care centers in Afton and Alpine put the medical help you need as close to you as possible: Hopefully minutes from your accident, not hours away.
Each center offers convenient hours for walk-ins, often with the shortest wait times around. Afton is open 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday and Alpine is open 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Sunday.
Keep in mind, a longer drive doesn’t necessarily put you in danger. It just may mean you’ll be uncomfortable or in pain a little longer. Please have someone drive you if your vision is impaired or you are unable to safely operate your vehicle.
