As a social worker in the Star Valley Care Center, Mary Walker understands the challenges residents and their families face when transitioning into long-term senior care.
Mary brings a compassionate perspective while also overseeing admissions, tours, and working with an interdisciplinary team to create a comforting, home-like environment for their residents.
Says Chief Nursing Officer Tori Probst, “In her job Mary has to have difficult conversations daily, but she handles it with ease and kindness. Mary is always available to help with each resident and family member’s emotional needs.”
In addition to personalized care, the Care Center provides engaging programming for its residents, like nature walks, cookouts, and trips to local museums. And if you stop by for a tour or visit, you may also meet the Care Center’s most delightful team member: Mary’s pup, Copper. “The residents love him,” she says, “and he is very spoiled here.”
