Pam Sprecher, Star Valley Care Center Activities Director,
received the Dan Lex Award for outstanding care by LeadingAge
Wyoming, an association of long-term care and assisted living providers.
“I was shocked,” she said when notified of the award. “It made me feel loved
and appreciated – and grateful that I get to do what I do.”
Pam was nominated for the state-wide award because she is kind,
caring, professional, compassionate, and “truly has a heart or gold,” says
Tori Probst, RN, Star Valley Care Center Administrator.
She thinks outside the box to come up with creative solutions for the
residents. For example, during the worst of the COVID pandemic, Pam
asked for a dedicated outbuilding to allow safe visitation between
residents and their families. “If I can bring joy into the lives of these dear
elderly folks,” she explains, “I find great fulfillment in that.”
“These residents have a depth of wisdom that can only be acquired by years
of experience,” says Pam. “They have so much yet to give.”
