Craig Eddins shares his grandfather’s experience at our Afton ER
“It’s 5-star service from entrance to exit,” he says. “I don’t think there’s anything that was lacking or could have been done better.”
Craig and his family were in Star Valley visiting his 93-year-old grandfather, Neil L. Eddins, Sr, for a memorial service for Neil’s cousin. While enjoying drinks at an Afton bar his grandfather lost consciousness and slumped in his chair.
Fortunately, Jim Lytle, RN, and other Star Valley Health nurses were in the bar. They revived Neil, and within moments an ambulance arrived to take Neil to the hospital.
“It wasn’t long before we were meeting with Dr. Miedema, the ER doctor,” explains Craig. “She was fantastic. Super pleasant and spoke to us at the level of everyone in the room.”
As an EMT and firefighter from Amarillo, Texas, Craig could tell that the ER equipment was top notch. “You’ll get equal or better care at Star Valley Health than you’ll get at any high-tech big city hospital,” says Neil. “And the personal touch was amazing.”
And there’s good news. Neil is doing great. “I cooked him a rib eye and asparagus and fresh caught trout yesterday,” says Craig, “and he cleared that plate like a monster.”
Thank you to everyone who provided exceptional care in this scary situation.
