Dr. Michael Scott Major, a board-certified otolaryngologist, is providing ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care in Afton.
Dr. Major provides both surgical and non-surgical treatments for a host of conditions, including recurrent ear infections, deviated septum, and head and neck cancers.
From sinus issues to allergies, it can be difficult to discern when symptoms are seasonal or something more. Says Dr. Major, “If you have symptoms that don’t go away or keep coming back, if you have an unexplained growth or difficulty swallowing, come in and be evaluated.”
Outside of his practice, Dr. Major takes to the skies. He’s a certified pilot who has been flying for nearly 30 years. He reflects on the power of ENT care to support a patient’s own hobbies and interests: “Just feeling like we’re impacting patients’ lives so they can get out and do more and be more active –that’s why I was drawn to this specialty.”
PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
“I’m a big believer in treating the patient, rather than just treating the symptoms. ENT is very centered on quality of life. When you can talk to patients about how to make their overall health better, that impacts all parts of their life.”
