Surgical techs are essential in providing excellent patient care. We currently have open roles for day shifts on weekdays, and we offer training if you’re new to the field. Read on for more info.
What Does a Surgical Tech Do?
Surgical technologists – also known as scrub techs or operating room techs – are involved in many aspects of an operation. As a surgical tech you’ll work alongside surgeons, RNs, and anesthesiologists to assist with procedures and help ensure a sterile surgical environment.
Your work responsibilities may include prepping the operating room, passing instruments to the surgical team during the procedure, and sanitizing equipment afterwards.
What Skills Does a Surgical Tech Need?
If you’ve got a meticulous eye and work well under pressure, you may be a great fit for this role. Surgical techs must be very detail-oriented to ensure cleanliness and organization in the operating room. You’ll also need solid communication skills, as you’ll be working alongside others in an intense environment.
A high school diploma is required for this role. And if you haven’t already completed an accredited surgical tech program, we offer opportunities for tuition reimbursement and paid professional development.
