CNA trainees are paid $14.40/hour during the program. After completion of the program and becoming certified, the minimum compensation is $16.36/hour.

What Does a CNA Do?

A CNA’s responsibilities span a broad range of tasks, like checking vitals, gathering supplies, or assisting with daily patient care like bathing and feeding. As a CNA, you’ll report directly to our director of nursing and will help ensure our departments run smoothly and our patients receive consistent, compassionate care.

Where Does a CNA Work?

At Star Valley Health, our CNAs work throughout our hospital and at our long-term care facility, the Star Valley Care Center. We offer full-time, part-time, and as-needed roles.

How Do I Get Certified?

Our training program begins on November 10, 2025, and will run for four weeks. Classes will be held on our campus in Afton, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This class averages 20-25 hours a week. The final week of clinicals will have hours from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be time off during the week of Thanksgiving. Upon completion of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to take your CNA licensure exam and schedule an interview at Star Valley Health.

What Skills Does This Role Require?

Along with your CNA certification, you’ll also need to be CPR certified. The role of a CNA requires keen attention to detail to ensure optimal patient care, sanitation, and accurate record-keeping. You can expect to be active on your feet throughout your shift and engaged with an interdisciplinary team.
