OR Admissions Clerk Pam Sprouse understands how overwhelming surgery can be, and she keeps that top of mind on every shift.
“We put a personal touch on something that’s scary for a lot of people. It’s important to me that patients know that I care when they walk in the door.”
Pam registers patients for both outpatient and inpatient procedures, scans patient charts, and assists with billing for the surgery department. She keeps families updated on the progress of their loved one’s operation, providing comfort and peace of mind.
“Pam’s smiling face is the first person everyone sees as they arrive and check in for surgery,” says OR and Surgery Director Jason Ewing. “She’s a calming presence to the nervous patient as well as support for their families.”
Adds Pam, “I find it amazing, the caliber of the surgeons and doctors that we have. We also have amazing nurses who do an incredible job here in our department. It takes all of us to make it work.”
