Star Valley Health infusion nurse Angela Turner has received the DAISY Award in recognition of extraordinary nursing care.
Angela was nominated by Ginger Thompson, who has been receiving chemotherapy infusions with Angela every two weeks. “Angela is not only an exceptional nurse,” explains Ginger, “she is a true friend. She creates an environment in the infusion room that’s welcoming and makes you feel comfortable, and she’s attentive to my every need while I’m there. I’m so thankful to have such an amazing nurse!”
And for Angela, this award is so meaningful because of patients like Ginger. “Ginger is such an inspiration to so many people, myself included.”
The DAISY Award is celebrated throughout the US and in over 30 countries across the globe. Over 5,000 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing participate in the award.
Chief Nursing Officer Tori Probst describes Angela’s devotion: “Angela is an advocate for every patient she encounters. She reflects the perfect balance of what an extraordinary nurse needs to succeed – the skill and knowledge of the science behind nursing, and the essential art and caring of nursing.”
Angela strengthens our Oncology and Infusion Center with her skill and kindness, and she’s dedicated to providing compassionate cancer care in Star Valley.
“It brings me joy to know that I can support my community and my patients. That’s my goal: to continue to help this program grow to serve our community.”
