CPR Classes

Star Valley Health offers CPR certification through the American Heart Association. Certifications range from HeartSaver CPR AED and First Aid to more advanced options like BLS (Basic Life Support). We have certified instructors to teach a variety of different CPR-related courses. Most people only need the information given in the HeartSaver CPR AED and First Aid course to provide life-saving care. Pediatric training is also offered. AHA Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid are normally required for respite and companion care as well as day care center workers. AHA BLS is generally needed in nursing homes, care centers, hospice care, clinics, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
There are a few options available to become CPR certified. The recommended route is to purchase an online package through the American Heart Association to complete the bulk of the certification process on your own time and at your own pace. Normally this takes approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete. Be sure to complete all optional modules while completing online modules. Once this online material is completed, scheduling a time to complete an in-person skills-pass off is the last step to complete the total certification. This in-person session is approximately 2 hours in length as well.
We understand cost is a key factor for all these days. The cost of the online material varies by certification, but as part of our commitment to keeping costs to a minimum, Star Valley Health offers the in-person skills-pass off for only $40. If a group or private class is preferred those can be scheduled separately subject to instructor availability. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible as our normal max class is 8 with exceptions made with instructor availability. You can find the pricing for the HeartSaver CPR AED and First Aid here and BLS online materials here.
No matter the route taken, students will learn skills to provide life-saving care to family, friends, and members of our community. Star Valley Health encourages anyone who wants to make a difference to sign up and become CPR and/or First Aid certified.
