About the Auxiliary
As the primary healthcare facility in north Lincoln County, Star Valley Health provides services to the community and surrounding areas, as well as the large numbers of travelers who pass through. The hospital auxiliary program is a valuable resource which enables SV Health to provide the little extras that improves our patient’s experience from ‘good’ to ‘excellent’. Our Auxiliary members work right alongside hospital staff and are involved in almost every department. From fundraisers to blanket making, the Auxiliary is a vital part of our organization.
The Star Valley Health Auxiliary has played a key role in patient care at SV Health since its inception in 1996. This team of enthusiastic women and men truly represent the Star Valley Health mission, to support individuals, families, and community in achieving their best health. You can find Auxiliary members assisting throughout the hospital and care center. In addition, this group holds many fundraising events such as the Card Party, Pizza Hut Nights, and Christmas Basket Sales. Its numerous contributions have touched the lives of hundreds of patients and their families. The Auxiliary operates the hospital gift shop, Gifts of Joy, as its main fundraiser, with profits returned to the hospital to purchase needed equipment and services or to support the community in some way.
Volunteer opportunities currently include assisting with health fairs, blanket service day, and Brake for Breakfast, in addition to staffing these permanent workstations:
- Gift Shop – Gifts of Joy
- Care Center
- Surgery Department
- Family Waiting Area
- Foundation Events
- Community Education Events
- General Clerical Duties
- Central Supply Assistance
If you are at least 18 years of age and interested in joining the volunteer auxiliary, we would welcome you! Every effort is made to place volunteers in areas that will use their abilities, meet their goals and fit their schedules. Volunteers supplement, but do not replace the work of paid staff. Assignments are conditional upon the volunteer’s health, performance and satisfaction with the assignment, as well as continued need for the service.
