Unsung Hero of the OR

Christina Hale says being a scrub tech is both rewarding
and challenging. Standing for long hours during the surgery can be
physically and mentally strenuous. In spite of that, working with surgeons is a privilege. “I enjoy the environment and love all the staff I work with. We’re family.”

“Scrub techs are the unsung heroes of the operating room,” says
Diane Lyda, interim director of surgical services. “They’re responsible for preparing all the instruments and supplies and maintaining sterility throughout the surgery. The surgeon totally depends on them.” Christina is “a great employee – dedicated, dependable, and even tempered,” she adds. “She is a very important part of the team!” Thank you, Christina!
