RN Trish Bassett has received a DAISY award.
Trish was working at our Afton ER when husband and wife Tom and Molly Hurst arrived, travel nurses en route to an assignment. Tom was suffering from pulmonary embolism and was admitted to our hospital.
“I’ve been in that situation when you’re away from home and having medical problems,” reflects Trish. “It’s complicated. And so I just went to the med surg floor the next day and checked on them.”
Trish’s diligence made quite the impression. Her DAISY nomination reads: “Trish went above and beyond and was genuinely concerned for us. She made a point of checking on us again the next day. She made us feel like we had people and weren’t so far from home.”
“Trish consistently surpasses expectations and delivers outstanding patient care,” says ER Manager Lindsey Hill. “Her passion, empathy, and teamwork make her an invaluable and cherished member of our emergency room team.”
And for Trish, receiving a nomination from the nursing community is an honor. “It’s so special. A nurse sees so many patients, and they know how they care for others. For them to think I did a good job means a lot.”
Congratulations Trish and thank you for providing exceptional care at Star Valley Health!
