When it comes to one’s calling, sometimes you just know.
That was certainly the case for population health nurse Pam Shaw. “I’ve wanted to be a nurse all my life,” reflects Pam. “I’ve never wanted to be anything else. Every Christmas I wanted a nurse kit and every Halloween I was a nurse.”
Pam primarily works with our 65+ patients. She plays a key role in guiding patients towards preventive care and sustaining a healthy lifestyle. On any given day she may offer recommendations for screenings, help draw patient’s blood during their visits, or provide resources for meal delivery and other community services.
“Pam Shaw is an amazing employee,” says Kasey Mackey, ACO care coordinator and CMA. “She’s always first to help however she can and is always thinking of patients first.”
Pam finds joy in strengthening the health of our community, one patient at a time. “I would like everyone to have their needs met. This is a wonderful way to bridge from the patients to the providers, and vice versa. It’s filling in that gap.”
