As Bentley Lovelady explains, “having the right items at the right time” has always been an integral part of his career.

Bentley worked in retail management before coming onboard in shipping and receiving at Star Valley Health. He now works as materials management purchaser and helps ensure our staff is prepared with the tools and supplies they need.

With so many moving parts in this role, organization and focus is key. “A lot of the planning is just us going through and creating our tools for success,” says Bentley. “We work alongside other teams to create a plan of action.”

On any given week Bentley’s orders may include clinic supplies, operating room gear, or even large-scale equipment. Bentley and his team manage recurring orders while planning far in advance for facility renovations or busy surgical seasons, all while navigating the logistical challenges of shipping to an out-of-the-way location.

“We have nearly 10,000 items in our master file and work with over 500 vendors,” explains Nolan Heiner, director of materials management. “Bentley is approachable, reliable, and quick. He’s a fantastic employee!
